Jolly good, the Selvedge Spring Fair is fast approaching:

all that is gold does not glitter
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
- J R R Tolkien
Solid gold band by my all time favourite jewellery designer/maker, the wonderful Shane at One Stone New York. What's not to love about a designer who lists Malcolm Gladwell and David Sedaris as his favourite writers and uses recycled and ethically sourced materials:

the bucket tree
I am in awe of the multi-talented Artemis Russell and take much delight in browsing her online vintage shop, The Bucket Tree. Today, I am most tempted to purchase these gorgeous vintage wooden nesting dolls:

fish supper
As a special treat, the boy cooked up an awesome tuna steak with rocket and bean salad from Jamie's iPhone app (who else?). 'I'm a genius!' he declared and, for once, he was right. It was the most tasty thing I've eaten in a long time:

daffodils
I wander'd lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
- William Wordsworth (1770-1850)
